MINI - all models 2005 and up
Please note that if you have an early 2005 MINI (2005 Models produced prior to 14 October 2004 only), you need a special kit.
This modification is to enable the use of the lower rear fog light or brake light in the bumper of the early 2005 MINI Cooper and Cooper ‘S’ that does not have the wiring or plug to install a red rear fog light as brake light or a clear 2004 backlight as a backup light. This change allows the rear fog light to be illuminated only when the brake pedal is depressed and the brake lights are on or if used as a backup light, it will light when the car is placed in reverse. The black blank off plate will need to be removed. To remove the blank off plate, reach behind and gently push in on the retaining clip on drivers’ side of the plate from the inside of the rear bumper.
This kit contains an OEM connection plug assembly with wires attached, quick splices, instructions, and support if needed.

2007-2008 MINI Cooper S Coupe (R56) model
This is the Add-A-Brake Light kit you need if your MINI Cooper S (R56) does not have rear fog lights installed.

This modification is to enable the use of the lower rear fog lights 2007/2008 Cooper ‘S’ that does not have the wiring or plug to install the red rear fog lights as brake lights and running lights. This change allows the rear fog lights to be illuminated in a dim mode when the parking lights/headlights are on and then increase in brightness when the brake pedal is depressed and the normal brake lights turn on.
The black plastic blanking plates in the lower bumper will need to be removed and replaced with OEM light fixtures. The light fixtures are not included in our kit. The light fixtures may be purchased from a MINI dealer or you may purchase our kit complete with the light fixtures from our business partner, MINSpeed at www.minspeed.net
