Second Generation MINI R55/R56/R57
Our GPS mount will fit various GPS models with a 3.5" and 4.8" diagonal screen. The main parts fit the Garmin Nuvi series with adapters that allow the fitment of various other models.
UPDATE: We have been able to procure adapter parts for various models of GPS and the iPhone. This has allowed us to provide to reduce our GPS mounts to one model with associated adapter parts. If you need a Garmin mount, just order the Garmin mount without an adapter. If you need a mount for a different GPS, order the Garmin mount with the correct adapter for your GPS. If your GPS model is not listed, please inquire.For the TomTom and other units, please use the instructions above and add the adapter to the Garmin ball.

These kits include the mounting bracket, ball mount and all hardware needed to mount your GPS next to your tachometer on your MINI Cooper first generation body style. Our brackets will allow you to mount your GPS on theleft and right side of your tachometer. It does not screw into the back of the tachometer but uses the two mounting holes that hold your tachometer to your steering column support.
We are now selling two versions of the R56 GPS mount. One with a Straight Arm and one with a Bent Arm.
Below are pictures showing the various views from the driver's position. These were taken with the steering wheel and seat set up for a 5'10" person with a five inch gap between the front of the tachometer and the back of the steering wheel. Depending on your driving position, these views will alter slightly.

Straight Arm
The straight arm is the best solution for those with wide screen models. This minimizes the screen blockage from the steering wheel. However, it can only be assembled with the GPS on the left side of the tachometer.
Bent Arm
Mountable on either side of the tachometer. Recommended for those who have small screen GPS and want to mount their GPS on either side of the tachometer. Because the units are closer to the driver than the straight arm version, the steering wheel cuts off a little more of the screen depending on the position of the driver relative to the steering wheel. This new arm also prevents the steering wheel to be adjusted all the way forward towards the front of the car as the turn signals/wiper stalks will not be able to go up without hitting the device. If you drive with your steering column adjusted all the way forward, we suggest you order the straight arm.
For the Garmin Nuvi models, you will need to use the mounting clip that came with your GPS to attach to our GPS mounting ball.

We have mounted a Motorola Droid into this mount. While it is not a perfect fit, it does fit quite well. The only thing we noticed was that you have to fit the stepped end of the Droid into the end with two corner holders.
