The 2007-2008 Coupe and Clubman Glovebox Tidy
We use the same strong material as the original and offer all the colors of the original!
After getting several emails about the issues with the OEM version I decided to determine what they did wrong. I noticed that the OEM shelf sits on the door and has to be positioned just right for the glovebox door to close or it will catch on the little side tabs on the shelf. The GMG design solves all this. You simply put the back edge of the GbT into the back bottom corner of the glovebox and close the door. No extra positioning required.
After
spending too many hours at my dealer (thank you NWMINI for
the patience) trying different designs and mumbling about the heritage
of the glovebox designer, I came up with the following CAD model.
Because the room inside the glovebox is reduced from the previous
MINI, the owners manual (red), needs to stay left.
I noticed
that quite a few owners will have their MP3 players in the glovebox.
Instead of having their expensive Apple product flying around the
glovebox while they enjoy the twisties, I created a nice little area to

I also added a back wall to keep your 'stuff' from falling off the back of the shelf.
The
good news for those who want a splash of color when they open their
glovebox is that you will see the felt color much more with this design
as the unit stays on the door as it opens. Here are a sampling of
the many colors available. These are red, royal blue, charcoal and
black.
Yes, it is available in a Right Hand Drive model for
those in the UK, Australia and others.
One note: the redwood material is fleece not felt.
